I started on this year's
Sketchbook Project. I decided my theme would be a visual travelogue of Venice, one of my favorite places ever. Like last year, the first thing I did was to take the whole thing apart and work on the cover. I'm going to rebind it with heavier paper so I can use paint.
The drawing on the cover is the Piazza San Marco. I figured it was appropriate because it's one of the most recognizable spots in Venice.
Has anyone else started this year's project? Which theme did you choose?
I love it so far!!!

ReplyDeleteYou are amazing!!!! I can't believe the stuff you can do! I am excited to see your sketches...although it does sound that you will need to travel some more this year, you know, just so you don't run out of ideas. ;)
ReplyDeleteI don't think I'll be traveling this year... just to the shore! Maybe next year.
DeleteWow! Fantastic cover and such a cute idea with all the dialogue balloons as contrast. But that intricate ink work, amazing!
ReplyDeleteThis is lovely! I am still deciding on my theme. I am thinking of sticking with the "sketchbook" theme. See how I can push myself with it.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a great theme I'm sure you'll have a lot of great ideas for the sketchbook! I'm excited to see the process!
ReplyDeleteI've never done the sketchbook project even though I think I should every year! I don't know why. I love your cover and theme. It's really smart to use heavier paper too. Can't wait to see what you do on the inside. :)
