Ciao, watercolor & graphite on Rives BFK, 8 x 5.5", 2012. |
I haven't done
Illustration Friday for a little while, so I drew a little toad for this week's theme. The weather's getting warmer, and it's almost time to hear the little frogs and toads peeping at night. This one doesn't peep or ribbit though... it's a sophisticated Italian toad.
Looks great Sarah! I really like the wash of colour and the line work : ) What were the guidelines for the submissions?
ReplyDeleteHi Anil! This week's theme is "Vocal", so you just have to submit something that illustrates that prompt. You just go to illustrationfriday.com and click "Enter Your link". It's pretty open. you can pretty much do whatever you want/
DeleteHaha, I love this! I imagine him saying ciao like Eddie Izzard...if you are familiar...if not, disregard. Lovely colors :)
ReplyDeleteHa, I haven't heard toads for a looong time. Instead I am listening to the forest birds. Not bad :)
ReplyDeleteYour toad looks really sophisticated, I must admit.
Great toad! Wonderful texture and details. Does he not even ribbit with an Italian accent? Maybe when nobody is around.
ReplyDeletelovely colors and texture!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful linework and coloring! <3
ReplyDeleteSophisticated, Italian, talking toads are my favourite - such a coincidence! Great work on the markings and you have beautiful handwriting :)
ReplyDeleteReally love how you've applied the color on your toad! Wonderfully detailed!
ReplyDeleteI love the texture and soft colours. I never thought I'd find a toad to be "pretty"!
ReplyDeletemake a version with his throat bloated. ^_^
ReplyDeleteI love how the colors are overlapped in this, as well as the mixture of heavy and soft lines. Great work!
